James Little
James Little is Main Street Birmingham’s merchant liaison. James works with local merchants associations to foster economic stability within commercial business areas. James works to develop leadership within local business groups and helps to market the goods and services in an area through events and other promotions.

Hometown: Roebuck Springs in Birmingham. “Roebucks Springs is a neighborhood that was built around 1910. You can still find homes built in a variety of architectural styles including Craftsman Bungalow, English Country, Tudor Revival and Colonial Revival. It is full of Birmingham history. As an example, one of Birmingham’s first mayors lived there.”
Favorite local artist: Jill Marlar (James’s wife). “Jill is an intaglio printmaker. Most of her work is inspired by found mid-century photographs. She has taught me that you can always look at things in a different light.”
