Once the heart of many urban communities, commercial districts are again breathing new life into Birmingham’s neighborhoods. Main Street Birmingham is working with inspired entrepreneurs to leverage lower real estate costs, and under-served customer bases to create profitable businesses.

- Helping to identify available properties in MSB target districts
- Guiding business owners to financing sources and incentives
- Reaching out to existing businesses to encourage retention and expansion

- Main Street Birmingham’s Business Assistance Program – One-to-one coaching to give small business owners and entrepreneurs the skills they need for success
- The Entrepreneurial Workshop Series - Experts share the secrets to success with small businesses owners and entrepreneurs
- The Ensley Business Resource Center – Offers small business owners and entrepreneurs in Birmingham’s western communities one-to-one coaching and other business resources
- East End Arts: Main Street Birmingham’s Arts Incubation Program – A business assistance program for creative professionals – visual or performing artists, architects, designers or anyone else who wants to use their creative talents to make a living
- The Urban Food Project – Developing food-related businesses that address a lack of access to healthy foods in Birmingham’s urban communities
